about

London-based producer Social State is back with a fresh single after dropping his long-awaited debut album ‘Sacrosanct’ last year, a project that raked in Spotify attention and radio appearances from heads like Jamz Supernova (BBC 1Xtra), Naina (Apple Music 1), and Charlie Bones (NTS). The LP put him squarely on the map as an experimental, emotive musician working around a progressive axis, and paying homage to jungle tapes, imported metal CDs, broken beat and electronica along the way.

Since then he’s continued to earn support for both his solo and collaborative work—a recent notable example coming from none other than Thom Yorke, who featured Social State and Mr. Mitch’s track ‘Sleep’ on his ‘In The Absence Thereof’ mix.

His latest single ‘Logodrama’ comes off the back of increased freedom to look in new directions after the album’s release. Working from an emotional core that will appeal to fans of Bonobo and Four Tet, ‘Logodrama’ skips into post-rave territory. While piano stabs and washed out vocals gesture towards the melancholy of the bus ride home, sparky rave samples ripple at the periphery to remind us of the good times. Either way, this number is coming for the ears and hearts of the late night listeners, shaking out a warm blanket of melody to take the edge off.
